Pennsylvania regulations only recognize raw milk as a dairy product that may be sold for human consumption, so there is currently no legal category for retail sales of fresh raw cream as food, even when it is produced under the same careful standards as permitted raw milk. Because of this, our pint of raw cream must be labeled and sold as “not for human consumption” or “pet food,” even though it is handled to high cleanliness and safety standards just like our farm's raw milk.
